Log Reader includes command-line interface (CLI) based on Windows PowerShell technology. Log Reader command installation includes a PowerShell snap-in. The CLI helps you access Log Reader functionality directly without opening the console.

With PowerShell, you can:

  • Manage registration of SQL Server instances
  • Manage Log Reader server components
  • Read DML/DDL commands
  • Read log records
  • Read transactions
  • Save results in CVS, HTML, XML files, or in databases

Log Reader included to several Quest Software products. You can find it in Toad for SQL Server (http://www.quest.com/toad-for-sql-server/), LiteSpeed (http://www.quest.com/sql-server/backup-and-recovery.aspx), Change Director for SQL Server (http://www.quest.com/Change-Director-for-SQL-Server/).
