Configuration Snapshots

PowerGUI 2.0 introduces a new snapshot feature that will remember your configuration and allow you to compare, view or revert to an earlier configuration.

To get started: go to File/Snapshots

  • The first thing you should do is take a snapshot and name it.

  • The compare features allows you to compare your current configuration with a snapshot

  • Clicking on a hyperlink in the report will allow you do drill down and see the change

  • View allows you to restart PowerGUI with the selected snapshot to show you how PowerGUI would look if you reverted
  • Revert - allows you to reconfigure PowerGUI to match the snapshot.

Warning: your previous data may be overwritten if you use revert!

  • Remove - deletes a snapshot
